security lights come on when remote start

Hey all.

I have a 2000 Blazer LS and a few months ago I installed a DirectStart CS423 Remote Starter.  I also had to install a bypass kit for GM's PassLock II system.  Everything was working fine. 

Now when I remote start and start driving, my security light comes on.  If I use my key to start the car then everything functions normally.  What could be causing this?

If you are using the IPPME bypass module make sure that the GREEN wire  ( KEY SENSE ) sees a ( - ) ground otherwise the Passlock II system will generate a false signal to the anti-theft system, but will not engage it.

Anyways, I called 12voltshop.com regarding my light.  They said they have never heard of that.  They said I could just ignore the light or check my resistants again and the resistants on my bypass kit.

Jeff, I don't know what exact kind of bypass I have.  I ordered it from the same place.  What I had to do was start the car.  Then cut the wire and test the resistance several times.  It came back as .650 three times out of 5.  So that was the number I picked.  Then I had to crack open the bypass kit and set the jumpers to 650.  Like I said before it was working fine for serveral months.

I think it could be the temperature outside and when it's hot it acts up.  So far I haven't seen it come on since I posted this question.

Jeff - big thanks to you.  I installed this several months ago and I didn't know where the tack wire was.  Most of the people and websites I go to tells me it's the white wire.  Needless to say you were right that it's the WHITE/ black white.

It took me six hours to get everything to work.  This was my first time and it felt good.  I wish I had gotten a tachless starter. Even though I set the crank time to the less amount it still seems to overcrank every once and a while.

Just wanted to say thanks for the correct tach wire.

Hey Khanh, no problem and just as good as you felt when you finished the remote start install... I feel equally as good hearing that the information that I give to members actually helps out. The bypass that you have sounds like the HPBK#3. If you want to ( ???? ) you should get the IMPPE instead as this is a learning bypass module and it will give you the proper value even if it changes on you with temperature variations. I use this in Canada and the temperature variations are up to 60 degrees up and down and no returns with this bypass module.

If you are still not geting a proper tach signal you can always go to the injector wire and because the unit is self learning for the tach function, you can learn this tach signal which is a 2 cylinder programming. You will be guaranteed a good tach signal from an injector wire.

Jeff, you're right again!  I do have the HPBK#3.  Where can I by the IMPPE bypass kit?  Do you sell it?  I prefer to by it from you if possible.

I do want to change my tach wire to the injector that your talked about.  Where can I find this wire.
