im installing a viper 5901 remote start in my 2002 honda civic, the full alarm functions work, the remote start wont, it wont let me enable Manuel transmission mode, and when i try to remote start, the remote says remote start error, tach signal is learned, i need help with my heavy gauge h3 harness
right now i have
red (ignition 1 input), RED / white(flux relay input), and RED / black(accessory/starter relay input) all hooked to White(12 volts)
orange(+ accessory output) connected to BLACK/ red(accessory)
pink(+ ignition 1 input/output) connected to BLACK / YELLOW(ignition)
green(starter input, key side of the starter kill) connected to BLACK/ white(starter)
none of the thers are hooked up, i think my problem is i need to cut the starter wire (BLACK/ white) and hook green to key side and violet to car side
hoping that fixes the problem, but what is a flex relay and do i have one, i didnt connect the pink/white and pink/black wires
also, can someone put in order steps i do when begining the remote start program our of these
-tach learn
-enable mts mode
-immobilizer learn sequence
what do i do first?
all help apriciated

Yes. Cut the starter wire and connect it as you described. Green to Key Side and Violet to  Starter Side.

The unit should be set in the Manual mode from the factory.

Tach wire need to be connected and tach learning is on page 30 of the installation guide. Note: Virtual Tach cannot be used in MTS Manual Transmission Mode.

What kind of immobilizer are you using?

how do you have the bypass wired up?

also, sometimes if you cant program it with the master black key, try the valet key.

Sounds like the remote start part is working. just need to get the immobelizer working. As Tedmond suggested a different key or maybe a different immobelizer might do it.  Tedmond got me on the Fortin brand and I have not had any issues with them.

Your tach wire is a blue, either at the inst. panel or under the hook terminating in a plug loosely wired to an engine bay loom adjacent to the suspension turret, it's right hand side over here, wire up ALL the ignitions and throw away the 555. Either get another key (chipped) and use a 556U or carefully remove the chip from your key and after ascertaining a working position, secure to black antenna ring around the ignition switch with an acrylic glue.
Smokeman and Tedmond's comments are quite correct, Ted is THE Honda man.

Talking about confidence, I was doing a tracking contract last week, found a Peugeot 308 Estate with a bad tracker, someone had installed a Parrot BT kit and mounted the tracker under the glove box, bad place AND that vehicle has a metal film windscreen. I also noticed the lead to the display was being trapped by the bezel around the factory screen. Being over confident, I decide to remove the bezel and free off the lead. I decide to remove the factory radio to get at the base of the bezel to free the cable. remember this is a bloody Peugeot as loved by ALL installers this side of the pond, it's the middle of the afternoon and 80f. The radio (Philips,Blaupunkt or Clarion) is jammed in, it wont budge so I push a bojo tool under the bezel, ended up catching the corner of the screen and f*****g it, cost = £540 ($840). The rule, don't have TOO much confidence you can screw yourself!
