I am needing guideance on connection a 3rd ignition on a 1996 Buick Park Avenue. Putting in a Viper 571. I know how to do the 1st and 2nd Ignition wires from the Heavy Gauge Harness.  I have not done a 3rd wire anything yet. My question is for the 3rd ignition, using a relay would I be using the pink wire from the Remote Start Ribbon Harness, (ignition relay turn on), or the pink wire from the Remote Start Auxiliary Harness, (ignition relay trigger)? My guess is that I would be using the one that is the ignition relay turn-on. Fused 12 volts to pin 86 & 87, pin 30 to 3rd ignition, and pin 85 to pink ignition relay turn-on. Thanks for any help. Love the 12volt.com.

Ribbon Harness:

BLUE (-) 200 mA STATUS OUTPUT

ORANGE / BLACK (-) ANTI-GRIND OUTPUT/GROUND WHEN ARMED OUTPUT

PURPLE (-) 200 mA STARTER RELAY TURN-ON

ORANGE (-) 200 mA ACCESSORY RELAY TURN-ON

PINK (-) 200 mA IGNITION RELAY TURN-ON

YELLOW (+) IGNITION INPUT TO REMOTE START

PINK/WHITE (-) 200 mA PROGRAMMABLE ACC/1 IGN OUTPUT

Auxiliary Harness:

PURPLE (-) 200 mA STARTER RELAY TRIGGER

PINK (-) 200 mA IGNITION RELAY TRIGGER

ORANGE (-) 200 mA ACCESSORY RELAY TRIGGER

BLUE (-) 200 mA STATUS 1 OUTPUT

Never seen a GM of that vintage with a third ignition wire. Not even sure if it has a second ignition for that matter.
Have you found and tested a third ignition wire in the car?

Nope. You want the Pink wire from the 4 wire Remote Start Aux harness.  See page 45 of the 571xv install guide in the downloads section.  Your relay wiring is good with that one change.

Soldering is fun!

No I have not tested any wires yet. Just doing the research on the wiring and a number of diagrams list a second and third ignition wire. Wanting to know the set up needed in case I run into that situation, I have a plan ready.  Thanks for the quick replies.

Nope, no second or third ignition on a 96 PA. Just a single pink ignition, single orange accessory....
