you put the vehicle back into the stated mode? When you want to get out and leave the car running and lock it. And, does the viper 5901 have this feature?

It's called short stop/pit stop mode. I just installed a 5902 in my wife's car this week and it has this feature. The 5901 and 5902 are the same alarm with the exception of the color remote on the 5902 and slightly different wire locations within the harnesses.

Actually, I just glanced through the 5901 owner's guide and didn't see the feature listed. Maybe I missed it. I did however find it in my 5902 manual and it's called pit stop mode in that manual. Here's a link to a PDF file of the 5901 manual so you can check it out yourself to be sure.

I really think this is the best alarm viper has made. They are always setting the standard for alarm systems. The pit stop is my favorite feature.
This quote was taken from Viper's website. It was a review by an owner of a 5901 so it looks like maybe it does. Again, I'm sure if you check out that owner's guide it'll let you know for sure.
Good luck.

i don't see it in the 5901 guide.
another question, if someone breaks in and cuts all the wires to the brain, will the remote continue to show an alarm is happening?
