Here are the basics:

Avital 4102XL - Keyless entry / Remote start

DEI DLPKGM - Door lock / transponder

2008 Pontiac G6 - Sedan - PWR Windows / Locks / Trunk

I want to make sure I have everything straight before I start the install. A little background on me, I have installed a minimum of 15 remote starts in all kinds of vehicles (manual shift and auto) prior to 2003 models. I have installed over 100 alarms in vehicles (I did it professionally while going to school), I have installed Audio systems in vehicles. So wireing schematics, and isntallation is not new to me. However I am almost completely baffled when it comes to my wifes new 2008 Pontiac G6, with a factory and aftermarket extended warranty. I want to make sure it looks professonal and that I do not hose anything up in the car (no having someone else do it just isn't for me or in my budget for what I wanted). GM hosed me on this car, no keyless entry, it is a ISL Vaule line car, so the keyless entry and factory remote start can not even be added as the ECM will not except the updated firmware. The thought it would be great for only the drivers door to have a key hole, and no other door except the trunk. Makes it great with 2 kids that have to get in the back seat. O.K. enough ranting here it is: (all model information listed above)

I have looked for the latest wiring information for the DLPKGM and found one listed the 05-06 models for the G6. The general install list an 08, bulldogsecurity.com list wores for the 08. However I can not determine if i still need to hook up all the wires on the Avital 4103 to the car if I am using the DLPKGm with D2D. I am assuming i will still need to do the following:

12 volt const., starter1, acc1,parklight+, trunk release.

If this is not the case please let me know what else I need to hook up or what I do not need to hook up. From the documentation I can find the Door lock, and imoboliser are all done with 2 wires from the DLPKGM, then its just power and ignition, start, acc from the remote start / keyless Avital. The trunk is no biggy if not from the model i can tap in at the BCM after the remote start and keyless work.

Please let me know if i can give anymore information.

The 08 G6 is a fairly easy car for this install. However, the DLPKGM will not work. A DLPK will and is probably the best module to use. In the install guide for the DLPK only the solid lines need to be connected. Any dotted lines in the diagram are not needed when using D2D. im a DEI dealer and can get you any diagram you need. When you decide on what bypass you are going to use, pm me with your email address and I can send you the info you need

I have a slight problem, I already have the DLPKGM and the Avital system. Can you tell me why the DLPKGM will not work and / or if there is a way to make it work with my vehicle. I need something to tell the company I ordered it from why I need to exchange it. I ordered it as a kit from their site and it was listed as the supported model for my vehicle. I am cool with it not being the right kit as long as I have fire power to get them to exchange it for the correct one.

For the DLPKGM return, just direct them to the DEI WEB site and have them look up your car.  XpressKit does not list it as a compatable product for your car.

http://www.xpresskit.com/VehicleCompatibility.aspx?p=null&year=2008&make=Pontiac&model=G6&ps=3&s=0

In the DLPKGM listing, the G6 is covered only until 2006.

Soldering is fun!

O.K. i just received the correct DLPK module.

Looking through the install guide its points me to Diagram 15 for an 08 G6. I am still a little confused on the bypass relay section. Is this still needed with the express kit? I thought the express kit eliminated having to put the relay in.

From the diagram it looks like I only need to connect 5 wires to the car, and all other wires from the model are to be connected to the Avital system.

Orange - Yellow - RCode - V Data

Pink - Accessory

Brown - V Ref

LT Green - Can SW Data

Then I have to cut the transponer and add a relay? (Where i am confused at)

Since i have an 08 I do not need to hook up the Grey Data to the ECM (Correct).

Sounds like alot of questions, however this is my first DEI moudle I am installing and it in the Wifes car so i want everything to go correctly the first time.

I hope someone is on and reads this that can help.
Got everything hooked up, the below works with very few wires.
Door Locks, lights, horn, trunk, all with 1 wire to the ODBII connector.
However the car will not remote start. I have added the relay for the transponder bypass as directed by the DLPK instructions. The car starts with the key, however the remote start will only operate if I put the key in turn to on, then turn to off. As soon as its in off position the car starts and runs for about 1 minute. If I remove the key after it starts then it runs for the programed time frame.
According to what i found I do not need to hook up the ignition wire, however i feel this maybe my issue that the PINK ignition wire needs to be connected to my AVITAL remote start / keyless system.
Or is it that i am using the wrong status output of my AVITAL to activate the relay? I am using the blue status - output to activate the relay as stated above.
A quick response would be greatly appreciated, as My wife's new car is still apart and in the driveway un-drivable.

the pink wire from the dlpk needs to be connected to the brown accessory wire in the ignition harness. that should solve your issue.

I have acc on the pink (connected to brown at switch/ or should he be at the BCM connection for ACC?) wire while key is on, it goes away after key is off, and does not return when remote start is activated. Maybe I should run this to the ACC of the Avital Keyless?

Can anyone help?

I am still stuck with just the keyless part working.

When remote starting i know get the check engine light on solid, like its about to try and crank, however no crank unless I turn the key to acc then off. Should i be putting the ACC wire from teh Avital somewhere special, other than just a acc wire in the fuse box?

Any help would be great, The wife would be so happy to get this to work, not to mention i would be happy not to have to get up at 5am to run out and start her car for her.
