I installed a cm6200 in a 2007 grand prix and for the life of me I can not get the thing to run for 25 min. I'v been trying to do it from the 2 way remote but am having no luck.  can somebody simplify the instructions for me? My wife is mad cause we spent a couple houndred dollars for the unit and it only runs 5 min longer then the factory one. could use alittle help please. If you know or even can point me in the right direction would be great. Thanks in advance

Here is a link to the CM6000 install guide :  https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/file.asp?ID=839
The CM6200 is basically the same without the alarm functions.
The option you want to change is 2-07 to Opt 2, shown on Page 20 and described on Page 24.
The install guide details changing programming options with the remotes starting on Page 30, with
either the 2 way or 1 way remotes.
Can't help you too much more because I use the OP500 programmer or do it online with a special
USB cable.
Soldering is fun!

compustars are probably the easiest units to program.

with that being said, why would you need it to run for 25 minutes? 15 is MORE than enough time for a car to warm up.

i dont understand why you would need more than 25minutes....

15 just isn't long enough to warm up when it's 10 below. 25 should be

I'll explain to see if maybe I'm doing this wrong.

I hold the lock + unlock for 2.5 sec and lock + start for 2.5 sec and then hold the trunk + start for 2.5 sec and then hit the unlock once to get it to run for 25min. Is this right or am I doing it wrong? Sorry but alittle confused and could use alittle help. Thnaks

youre programming it wrong.

btw 15min is more than enough to warm up the engine/fluids so the oil pressure is sufficient to drive. Only physical movement of the vehicle will get it warm (coolant is used to warm interior cabin by the second radiator) In my opinion (and im sure many others) would agree 25min is too much time to idle your car.

With that being said you are programming it wrong.

lock + start for 2.5 sec, hold the trunk + start for 2.5 sec

Press button 4, seven times (each press, the unit will click)
Wait, the unit will play back seven clicks
press button (x on the remote) x is whatever amount of time you wish from the programming options...

i just noticed i typed it wrong. for one way remotes assuming you have those,

lock + unlock for 2.5 sec, hold the  lock + start for 2.5 sec

Press button trunk + keystart, seven times (each press, the unit will click)
Wait, the unit will play back seven clicks
press UNLOCK for 25min runtime.
