Hello!
Newbie here, stumbled upon your site after a google search trying to figure this out on my own.
Bought a kit off ebay and the instructions that came with it are soooooo poor! I'm not good with electronics but as long as I have all the wire pin out and instructions, i"m very capable of installing this.
http://#/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130458455387&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT#ht_2971wt_941
The instructions for the Fortin bypass SL3 said that the DATA wire (PURPLE / black) should go to "green small pin #3." Then in the diagram (Type 3), it shows that the DATA wire should be attached to the car's ignition harness, which has no small green pin. In matter of fact, at the car's ignition harness, there is NOTHING green. The connector is brown. So where does the PURPLE / black data wire go?
Here are the instructions from Fortin:

The other wire that needs to be wired up is the ignition. I wired that ot he car's ignition harness blue wire. That's it? A total of TWO wires from the bypass? This is a one way remote start. I'm using the OEM key/remote.
I have a few more questions about wiring the actual auto start, but let's start with this.
Opps. I forgot to mention that this is going ing a 2008 CRV EX with OEM alarm and keyless entry.

data wire is PURPLE / white off the sl3. That goes to pin 3 off the immobilizer harness AROUND the ignition switch. not the ignition harness itself....

what remote starter are you putting in?

i have a feeling youre in way over your head on this one. I suggest you buy a fortin CAN-sl2 and pair it up with the honda-sl3 or you will have one hell of a time installing this unit.

Oh thank god you're here! I JUST read & DL your 08 Accord install and that helped me find the DATA wire in my CRV. So I attached the SL3's data (PURPLE / white) and ignition (yellow) to the small green connector in the car's ignition harness. Is this all I have to connect from the SL3?
There is another small 4 wire connector from the SL3. The instructions are pretty clear, but just to confirm, if I'm not using a DATA LINK, I should just cut off one end of the connector and wire 12V and ground. Is the 12V constant or switched?
I bought a CRIMESTOPPER off ebay. I bought it because it said that I can use my OEM key to start the car. I didn't want to carry an aftermarket remote in addition to the OEM one. It came with the SL3.
Questions about the Crimestopper, instructions said that yellow/black goes to ground. However there's also a black wire with a ring terminal crimped to it (isn't this usually the ground wire). Which one is ground?
Can you please explain to me about adding the CAN SL2 in addition to the SL3? What will that do? Why do you suggest it? Sneaky ebay seller didn't mention anything about the CAN SL2. Can I just wire the CRIMESTOPPER up with the SL3 and make it work? I don't need to operate windows/trunk. I just want to auto start and of course make sure the car doors are locked while it's running.
I'm very capable of installing this (even if it appears that I can't). The physical part is easy, removal of panels, soldering, and etc. I just can't figure out where which wire goes and the instructions that I have are poor.
THANKS!!!

there is also the ground when running, this will go to your units ground when running or status output (also called 2nd defogger output on some dei units)

if youre not using d2d, cut off one end anduse the black and red. red to 12v constant and black to ground.

Questions about the Crimestopper, instructions said that yellow/black goes to ground. However there's also a black wire with a ring terminal crimped to it (isn't this usually the ground wire). Which one is ground?

black is ground, but the yellow/black does it happen to be a hand brake connection? or ground to start (nss)

Can you please explain to me about adding the CAN SL2 in addition to the SL3? What will that do? Why do you suggest it? Sneaky ebay seller didn't mention anything about the CAN SL2. the can-sl2 will control your door locks, trunk release, factory alarm arm/disarm, domelight, door triggers, and many more by connecting 4 wires. which include power, ground, can hi/low to the car. then from the cansl2 you join all the outputs from the remotestart into the cansl2.

I'm very capable of installing this (even if it appears that I can't). The physical part is easy, removal of panels, soldering, and etc. I just can't figure out where which wire goes and the instructions that I have are poor.
