remote start 2006 ford fusion

I have never done a remote start before but have done alarms years ago. I have a 569T DEI (Hornet) remote start and was looking at getting the Fortin Key-Overide-All. I have been reading in here for like 2 hrs and still am confused on the connections and where the wires are located. Everyone seems to say these are easy to install a remote start on, but I don't want to screw anything up. I am definitely not a newb to wiring or cars but I like to have everything planned out so I don't run into issues. Thanks in advance, if I need a different module other than this Fortin let me know.

Do you have your heart set on installing the 569T? I have used many of them in the past, and although they are reliable I can not stand the lack of options those units offer. For example: you can not turn off the stupid flashing parking lights. Most of the wires you will need are going to be running down the steering column, in the ignition harness. I too find those cars to be pretty easy. That Fortin piece is a great part, but you can probably find a DEI 1100F for about $15.00 shipped, and it works great. Solder everything. Your vehicle's ignition supply is 15amp. Change out the 30amp included fuses with 15amp. Ask every question you have here, before tackling the job. The more informed you are the better.Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

Thanks, I really appreciate the quick reply! I hate to sound stupid but better safe than sorry. I just read about the flashing parking lights, that is kinda of odd. I have (2) of these units I bought 2-3 yrs ago but if there is something you would recommend instead that is low price but reliable let me know. Most everyone around here installs the Excalibur units, not sure how they are either. I know my friend paid $299 for the Excalibur RS210DP installed in a Freestar. I just can't afford that and like doing things myself. Thanks again!

The Ultra Start U1272 XR Pro is a solid unit with good range and enough options to support your vehicles requirements.  It also does keyless entry and is easy to program & install with the well written install guide.   Available  at  "online auction" for about $50.  Worth every penny to avoid the parking lights flashing during the remote start period. Soldering is fun!

Asking for a recommendation here can become overwhelming as most of us have our preferred brands and models. Installation quality is truly the determining factor with most reputable brands. I have installed a few Ultras (as Kreg357 suggested) and they worked perfectly, the Omega (Excalibur) stuff is good too, and most people swear by Compustar, but my preference is DEI. So I would suggest a 4111 or 4113 by Avital, they are the same exact unit, the 4111 comes with one remote, the 4113 comes with two. It's a single button remote start unit. Your factory remotes work while the car is running so you don't have to worry about integrating the door locks if you do not want to. This also can be had online for about $50. Any automotive parts shop that has a Keystone account can get them for you too (although the price would be higher).Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.
