Hey guys,

I recently installed an Avital 4113 w/DBALL for the bypass in a 2010 Outlander Smart Key. The customer states the remote start works fine except for when then turn the knob for take-over the tire pressure idiot light comes on for about 5 seconds then goes out. He is adament about it "NEVER" coming on when just starting the car normally. It's apparantely only when the remote start is active. It is probably normal to do this and since its not staying on, I dont see the issue but he wants it looked at. Everything is connected exactly as the DBALL diagram shows and Directechs.com doesn't show any additional IGN or ACC wires that arent being powered by the remote start.

Anybody do one of these vehicles or have any insight?

Thanks,

Bill

I would confirm it does not come on when starting with keys. So many diagnostics do a bulb check I would not be surprised if the customer just never noticed it before.
It is a lot easier to notice things when you never looked for them before.

Sounds similar to what the iDatalink bypass with CH4 firmware does at key take over on a Dodge Caravan.  It flashes "Low" for a second or two about 50% of the time.  A non-issue for drivability.  Don't think it logs any error codes, either.  Sorry, don't use DB-ALLs.
Soldering is fun!

I went thru the entire car to make sure all connections were solid. Like i expected the were. I also re-flashed the DBALL and no change. So, i called DEI. They said this is normal. I can't see how I can do over 250 remote starts a season for 8 years and not have ever seen anything like this before.  I told the customer it is normal and wont hurt anything unless the light was coming on and staying on.
