I am putting doors off a 2001 s10 onto my sons 1997 gmc sonoma. The gmc never had power locks or windows. I am using the factory switches & motors. How do I wire in the locks & windows? I am using relays for the locks & maybe the windows. I can get the driver side window to work & the passenger side to work without relays, but I can not get the switch on the drivers door to control the passenger window. Any help would be nice.

hi,

if you go to autozone.com, you can register, add the '01 S10 as a vehicle. this will allow you to view the wiring diagrams for the windows, door lock actuators, as well as the window and door lock switches.

I am installing power windows & locks on my sons 1997 GMC Somona. I am using the power doors off a 2001 S10. The GMC truck does not have power windows or power locks. Does anyone know how to wire the passenger power window to the controls on the drivers door? I can get the drivers side window to work just fine & I can also get the passanger window to work by using the controls on the passanger door but not by using the controls on the drivers door. The drivers side door is off a four door truck. The door locks works fine.

You will need to wire the motor and switches as shown in the following diagram. Just remember that the passenger switch is getting its ground via the driver switch.

The red wires are 12 volt, the black wires are ground, and the blue wires change state depending on the position of the switches.

All circuits should be verified with a digital multi-meter prior to making any connections.
