What’s burning?

I recently installed Bulldog's RS82 remote start.   I leave the air conditioning controls on so that the truck will be cool, and when I get inside, I detect a faint burning smell.

I worry about this because I never noticed it before I installed the remote start.

My wiring scheme shows that I have two accessory wires, orange and brown.  If I remember correctly, I used only the orange.  Should I hook up the brown as well?  Or does this even make a difference?

Thanks,

James Ayers

1997 GMC Sierra 1 Ton 4 door crew cab pickup.   I used the method described in the bulldog manual, strip back wires, twist together, tape and wire tie.

Bulldog should really update their procedures on how to install systems. You should always use solder on the twisted wires otherwise if they come apart or get pulled by accident and it ends up being a power wire you could short out the entire electrical system of the vehicle or worse, cause a fire in the cab.
