I have installed the starter into the car. Violet white wire to the tach, voltage wires, ignition, accessory all test correctly. When I click to start the vehicle it doesn't click on or do anything. I have ground on factory ground wire, immobilizer is a 555f but I believe it needs to be a 556u.Would this create a problem to not allow the system to operate at all? When I click the door locks the module clicks so I know there is power to it. I also tried to program the key fob to no luck. I didn't connect hood switch or neutral safety/brake switch. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance
Warren

So it could be the neutral switch that is the problem? I am just a weekend mechanic so want to be sure I am understanding correctly.

Thank you for your help

usually when everything is wired up but nothing happens when you hit the remote start button it is 1 of 3 things.  The brake is active, hoodpin wire is grounded or the n.s.s. is not seeing ground.  If it is a tach problem, the vehicle usually brings on the ignition and may or may not crank.  You said you didn't connect your n.s.s. wire which needs to see ground in order to remote start.

Ok, here is an update. I wired the nss and the car started with key in the ignition. The next problem is the car ran about 10 sec and shut down? I believe another issue is the immobilizer which is wired is a 555f which I read isn't the correct one for the 06 ford freestyle, it should be the 556u. This would cause the problem of not starting without a key. But would it shut the unit off with key in ignition?

Thanks for all your help,

Warren

10-15 secs. running points to tach not learned.
The 556f isn't a very good unit.
