Did my searching and here's what I want to know....

I have the viper 5701 installed on my 04 G35.  The viper honks the horn when i lock/unlock the car.  It can't be disabled by disabling the factory honk either.  Installer wants $15 to program it, but I don't want it, and never will...

Can I cut wire #8 (BROWN / black) under the h2 harness?  Will there be any unforseen consequences for this?  All i want to know....

Look up an install guide for that unit. YOu don't need a programmer to program the features. You can do it through the push button and LED. A little tough to figure out, but easy to do once you do figure it out. But to answer your question, yes you can just cut the horn honk output. Just make sure to tape it off properly or you may find your horn blaring if it connects to ground.

Yea i've been reading the install manual and it's kinda confusing about the horn honk option.... It claims that "full-alarm trigger only" is the default setting, but i am sure that mine is set to default and still getting it on lock/unlock... other options all say "siren function 20 mS" or 30 mS 40 or 50.  So I think i'm just going to cut it, i can't forsee ever wanting to reenable it, and if i was for some strange reason desperate to do so, i could just use a twist on connector... Thanks!

Please don't ever use this method on automotive electrical. You are just opening the door for trouble. Twist, solder, tape, and shrink tube.

Set your horn function to Full Alarm Only. This will disable the horn function on lock/unlock. It will only sound when the alarm is triggered. You should be able to do it your self with the Button on the antenna and your remote.  Instructions starting on page 61 of the install manual. Might take a few times to get the sequence down, but keep at it.  Menu 1, Item 10, Option 1.
When all else fails, Read the Instructions

Got it to work using the install manual and accessing the menu with the valet button.... my installer I guess used different defaults than the system comes with! Thanks everyone
