Car: 2012 Honda Accord EX-L w/ Nav
Alarm/RS: Viper 5704
Bypass: DBALL
Problem 1:
I had the 5704 installed at a local shop and the installer wasn't able to get the defrost feature to work. He said that he tried pulsing the wire and was getting a signal but the dash light would not come on so he basically told me it wouldn't work. I saw this thread and I'm not sure if I could use this information to see if he could hook it up through the driver side fuse box. I'm not sure exactly where he tried tapping in at though :(.
I found another bit of information while researching this issue it may be irrelevant but a Civic forum indicated that the dash light for the defrost button does not come on but the defrost does in fact actuate the defrost function. Would this also be true for the Accord?
Problem 2:
The trunk release does not actuate when the vehicle is remote started. The installer said it was a security feature? Is there a way to where if I unlock the car the trunk release would work and if it's locked it would not work? Is this something that I can change through the command center button myself or will he have to do a W2W for this?

Okay so this shop is very incompetent or they just want to take money and not really satisfy the customer. I went back and they got my trunk to work -- great! The defog function becomes available on my remote and even triggers on but the dash light stays off and I physically checked the mirrors and the rear windshield they do not heat up at all! I waited a good 5 minutes to check them.
Is there a direct Viper number that I can contact for shoddy installs or what? This is becoming quite annoying especially for the arm and leg they charged me for this unit.
It is obvious that it can be done with all the research I've done on this site what gives?

the light is suppose to stay off. Also, the defrost only activates when its 0c or 32F.

Also I'll be compiling this information into a FAQ soon maybe on my own site maybe on an Accord forum. I really appreciate the help and I wish I could pay you guys instead of the shop I went to they didn't explain any of this to me :|.
