also

on the 4 black wires going to the ignition and starter, there unlabled.

so can i use a meter to pin out each circuit?

eg:when alarm is armed 2 wires will be not connected, when alarms off they should join contacts?

and the same for the other 2 wires

thanks in advance howie

OK, your locks BROWN / black and WHITE/ black not used.
Violet/black and violet to a red on the loom behind glovebox against engine bay bulkhead or at ignition switch.
GREEN/ black to original green or pin 4 probably vacant on middle quadplug of body control unit behind glovebox.
Blue/black to pin 17 (opposite 4) on same has a blue/red cable.
Here's the clever bit. Buy a 1N4004 diode, Maplin etc. and connect from the GREEN/ black to the blue/black, diode towards the blue/black.
Now programme your new unit for comfort close.
This will give you deadlock and windows/roof close on arming and just lock on ignition.
Yes to your question on the black wires though they should have been labelled if it was a new 650.
You have two power supplies, 5 amps and 20. Two grounds. with the power off these two will read common on a meter. The other 4 blacks are the two cuts, each two will be common to each other for a minute when the alarm is switched off.
If not labelled your only way of telling the two wires apart would be to connect these last, use a 5 amp fuse and operate the alarm with the remote. Whichever works the alarm is the 5amp and stays that way.
The other should go to ground and the two white indicator wires joined together then joined to the BROWN / blue at the hazard switch.
N.B. I mounted everything on the left, never went over to the right the ignition, light green and starter light GREEN/ black can be picked up to the left of transmission hump. Also the ignition cut wires MUST go to the ignition, if you have it wrong, you wont be able to enter program mode.
If you have any problems PM me with your email, I'll send you pictures.

Colin, only use that diagram I sent you, neg trigger from that white wire going to the hazard switch to 85, don't forget the diodes other wise lights will come on with hazards, diode in white, band towards the alarm then take off the 85 feed between the diode and the hazard switch.
86 and 87 to a constant, 10 amps fused or a red at the lighting switch, then 30 via 2 x 1N5404 diodes to each light feed at the lighting switch.
Honestly this is a 10 minute job once you have access to the wiring.
