Good morning. I cannot find the wire on my remote module for door pin trigger input wire. My module is a commando EZ-2500(remote start/keyless entry, no alarm). I am trying to isolate the door triggers on a 2002 Ford Ranger. Can anyone shed some light?
Thanks,Mike

Hi Mike,

Not sure if I understand correctly.  You are installing a Commando EZ-2500 Remote Start with Keyless entry unit

for Fuel Injected, Automatic Transmission vehicles, into a 2002 Ford Ranger.  This system has no alarm capabilities
( other than outputting an Alarm Disarm signal to disable the Factory alarm, if equipped ) and is not intended for
manual transmission vehicles.  There should be no need to connect this unit to the vehicles Door Triggers for monitoring.
The unit should be connected to a Hood Trigger ( hood pin ) to disable the remote start when the Hood is open.

Here is a link to the EZ-2500 Install guide :  http://www.commandoalarms.com/EZ-2500install.pdf

Just in case...

The Door Triggers can be found at the GEM.  The GEM (Generic Electronic Module) is to the left of the radio.
The driver door trigger is Yellow/Black and the passenger door(s) is Gray/Red. Use both wires and diode isolate as
shown in directfax document #1076.

Thanks very much,
That is what I thought but wanted to make sure. And it is an automatic. You would have to be a little crazy to install it in a manual trans.
Just my opinion.

Agreed.  Very un-safe situation.  They do make remote start units that are designed for manual transmission vehicles.  Those units monitor the door triggers for entry after the unit has been placed in Reservation Mode.  Typically, only alarm systems and remote starts for manual transmissions monitor the door triggers.
