I have installed the viper 211hv keyless entry and a relay in a 2004 corolla. Everything works fine except I can't get the progressive unlock to function properly. When I program the module for double pulse unlock, all doors unlock with one push of the button. When I program the module to shut off double pulse unlock, the driver door will unlock with two pushes of the button and if I time it right, a third push will unlock the other doors. If I don't time it right, I need to push the button three more times to open the other doors. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be?

Are you closing the door before doing your testing? Often the door locks respond differently with the door opened vs door closed. Are you powering key sense or dome light in the vehicle for any reason?

I have connected the dome light supervision, parking light flash, ignition controlled door lock, and horn honk. The ignition controlled unlock is off. I tried it both ways with door opened and closed.

How is your progressive unlock wired up?

I drink current, eat ohms, and bleed voltage

Use this, corolla_progressive_unlock.bmp

Parts needed 1 x standard automotive 5 pin relay.

1 x 1N4004 diode.

Note follow this diagram exactly what you join and the direction is very important.

Use the diode 1N4004 as shown.

Don't use WHITE/ black and TEST.

I have terminal 85 on relay tied to H1/2 which is (-)200 mA second unlock output. Terminal 86 on relay is tied to constant 12v power. I cut the red wire for the driver unlock motor and tied the side which goes into the door to the motor to terminal 30 on the relay. The side of the red wire going back to the plug I tied to terminal 87A. Terminal 87 on the relay is tied to constant 12v.

Your wiring is correct but you need it for the PASSENGER UNLOCK MOTOR WIRE.

Not the driver's you need the 211 internal relay to unlockthe driver's first.

All explained in the picture and don't forget the diode, it's mandatory otherwise you will fry the 211.

Howie II, your diagram seems to make more sense than the directions I was given . I questioned them but was assured it would work. I do have a question though. What is the reason for installing a diode across the relay coil?

Will the passenger unlock motor also unlock the back doors?
