I have a Delta 5005 alarm system with keyless entry.  I am installing it on a 94 Chevy fullsize P/U with power door locks.  When i go to lock the doors the alarm arms and the system clicks but the doors do not lock.  I have looked at the 5 wire diagram but i do not even know if that is the right relay hook up.  I doesn't help that i don't know that much about relays.  If anyone can help it would be appriciated.  Thanks

yes it is a reverse polarity system.
omega makes a DLS (door lock socket) that you plug two relays into and wire it up. it would take about 5-10 mintues if u had the part. if not look to the left under car security then under door locks. the info is there but if you dont have a DLS it will take much longer to wire each relay up. just make sure you double check the pins. if you wire it up wrong and try to use it you can short the door lock system and or the alarm.
Good Luck

What are the common k/e system configurations for the different auto manufacturers (ie: GM, Ford, Chrystler)? What is the best way to determine without going directly to the door switch (ie: the boot in the hinge, or the kickpanel)? Can it be that easy?

I've had a problem with the chevy truck doorlock setups. Some are 5 wire, some are 3wire positive. Usually, if the truck came WITHOUT factory keyless entry, and there are only 2doors, then its will most likely be the 5 wire negative reversal setup. If the truck came with keyless entry, or if it is a 4 door crewcab, it will have a 3 wire positive setup. One time I wired up power doors for a friend who was replacing a door on his truck, but his truck came with the 5 wire negative reversal, and the new doors he had came off of a truck with the 3 wire setup. Needless to say, I had LOTS of fun figuring out how to do that!!!!
