ultra start u1270tl fcc id?

Hello guys. I have got remote start system but unfortunately without remote entry fob. The label on the brain module says U1270TL, I believe it's Ultra Start and it looks the same as here. It has 6pin ignition connector, 14-pin main white connector, 3-pin white door lock/unlock connector, 4-pin blue RF Antenna/Program button connector and 3-pin white connector for transponder bypass module. I used simple steps from Ultra Start 1270 install manual to program new remote keyless fob: turn ignition key in 3 secs on-off-on-off-on, leave in on, press and hold program button on antenna module, parking lights will turn on, in few seconds later honk will sound 4 or 5 times and parking lights will go off, continue holding program button press and release lock button on remote fob. Honk will sound once to confirm remote was programed well. So everything was as says manual except no honk sound when I pressed lock button on remote. I bought this remote on ebay, seller said FCC ID of it MKYTXPT4G but I'm not sure because label on it was wiped. And also I saw a lot of the same remote fobs with FCC ID MKYMT9207TX and seller's description said it also will fit to the Ultra Start 1270. My main question how to determinate FCC ID of module I have and then find correct remote? Second question about work behavior of this module. I thought may be better to do factory reset: in 3 secs on-off-on-off-on, press and release the Program button, press and hold the Program button until the park lights flash and the horn 3 times will sound. I did it. Now when I turn ignition key On the parking lights constantly on. So if I want to enter in program mode I can't say I'm in or not because parking light always on. I think it not suppose to be. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Yes, it is an Ultra Start unit.  Most any Ultra Start AM freq 4 button remote will work.  The FCC number you have should work.

You can download the manuals from the Ultra Start WEB site.  Doing a factory reset can be good or bad.  The installer might have made some changes that are important and now every thing has been reset to factory defaults.  At Factory default, the horn should beep with all commands..

The factory reset also deleted the Tach Learn and you should do that again.  It should happen automatically when you start the engine with the key, assuming the Tach wire is connected and receiving a valid signal.

Thanks kreg357, the 2nd question resolved. Parking lights were constantly On because Tach setting was erased but nobody said (and install guide as well) that it will affect on parking lights. Ok, now about FCC ID. You said FCC number I have should work. I don't know what number I have. I ordered MKYTXPT4G but label was wiped so I couldn't say its exactly what I ordered. Quick search gave me that remote in this shape may have two FCC ID: MKYTXPT4G and MKYMT9207TX. The 1st one operates on 434Mhz and the 2nd on 310Mhz. Also I found that 3 types of board can be in this remote: TXPT4-I (I got like this one), TXPT4P (recently also got just board like this one. It has 433 crystal oscillator so I assume it works on 434Mhz) and 3rd type of board TXPT4-L. I tried both boards of remotes I have and both can't be learned to the U1270TL system. But as I said I don't know exact FCC ID that boards. Any ideas?

Interesting.  I still have a N.I.B. U1270TL on the shelf.  This one is the later U1270A-TL models.  The TL designation means that

it can run in the TachLess mode, while the older model had to have a tach signal connected and learned to remote start thevehicle.  Here is a photo of the white sticker on the bottom of the controller :

While the original U1270's come with the solid black plastic antenna with the twin Red LED's, this one has the newer clear

antenna with the twin hyper Blue LED's.

I have used many different style remotes interchangeably on the basic U127x AM freq controllers.

If the horn honks when you do a Factory Reset and it responds properly when you do the remote learn routine, it should

work.  After a Factory Reset the programming should be set for All Chirps Enable and should honk with all commands.  SeeMenu 1, Setting 2 for more info.  The Lock button is the one you press during a Remote Learn and it worked then so it shouldwork as a normal Lock button, too.  Very strange.  Perhaps the antenna or harness is slightly damaged.

Hi kreg357, Happy NewYear!, I just back to home - back to Michigan reality. Ok, I have the same label on the brain module as yours - U1270TL. That's good info about TL module version but I need to learn remote first. And I have Antenna module in clear plastic case with two blue LEDs as you said for TL model. Remote fobs. All fobs I have with Red LED and today I got digital frequency counter - all remotes have 434MHz frequency. Yes, I saw that a few different style remotes (as your last picture showed) can be used with Ultra systems but I still didn't find answer - what frequency it uses 434 or 310MHz. The honk sounds exactly as described in install manual - when I reset it, when I go to program mode, when I go to valet mode. Everything as in manual. Problem is not in honk. Also I checked with oscilloscope signal from antenna - it comes perfect to the main board, from all remotes, even from my subaru keyless fob (which has 435MHz operating frequency). Does it have wide band receiving frequency or can works with specific one? Also can you please check for me one resistor on main board? I marked it with red. (between 10k and 27k, and between 10k and 6.8Mom). I believe it should be something between 100k and 500k. I had another project last summer and soldered out that resistor and now of course don't remember what it was. On board it goes to the op amplifier (LP2902) and it's in Ignition circuit. Anyway system responds as should when I set ignition key to On position. But anyway I want to solder back correct resistor.

The resistor at that location has the 3 digit resistance code on it of 104, so it's a 100,000 resistor.  For what it's worth, the

other resistors in the positions adjacent have the same values as the ones shown in your photo, so the PCB's are similar.

I believe they operate at 433.92 Mhz.
