I've been reading several forums and figure I'd just ask for help this time. Installing a remote start alarm on a 08 ford edge awd. I'm using a avital 5103 and a pkall bypass. I'm not a professional installer but have put on several rs before but this is my first time with a bypass. Atm the I've got unlock/lock functions, parking lights, and shock are all functioning properly. The alarm side is fine its the remote start side I've got problems with. I get absolutely nothing when trying to rs. No light indication no turning on pwr, so nothing that's its even received the command. All connections are soldered except the 1 tap I'm sending constant pwr to the brain and I only did that incase I need to disable it for some reason. I've just verified all the connections I'm using with a mm at the brain just to check. And I've got a good learn flash from the Brian when doING the tach learn. Im grabbing a tach sense from an injector. I don't have the neutral safety switch wire hooked up as I dont think it has to be unless I'm wrong since this is an automatic. Also having problems programming the pkall bypass. Tried directions striaght from the site and it doesn't give me the 10 flashes to say it's right. Maybe because at the end you have to hit the rs button to finish the programming and the rs isn't starting lol. Also just to mention the blue/white running status from the pkall is hooked to the blue/white status from the brain. So if anybody out there could lend a hand Id really appreciate it.

You need to connect the Blue/White from the PKALL to the Blue wire of the Relay satellite connector...H1 Blue.
This should be the harness coming off of the heavy gauge harness. A four pin harness.
I would be helpful if you listed all of your connections from the Avital to what on the Vehicle.

Thanks for the replys. I just connected the neutral safety switch to ground and now it's try to remote start. Still having trouble programming the pkall. So here's is my connection list.
Satellite wires
Heavy gauge pwr wires from satellite 2 red and RED / white going to the heavy gage 6 or 8 gauge battery lead that goes through firewall to sjb in driver kick.
Pink ignition to WHITE/ orange at ignition switch
Purple to starter side blue/white
Green to ignition side blue/white
Orange acc to puple/green ignition switch
Relay sat 4 pin
The only wire connected on this connector is
Blue - status output to blue on pkall
Brain
Red and the only t-tap I'm using on the red satellite wire
Brown to siren
Black screwed into metal frame 3 inches from brain
Violet + door trigger to dome light grey/violet
Blue instant trigger NC
Green - door trigger NC
BLACK/ white doome light sup NC
WHITE/ blue remote start activation input nc
Parking light set to + goes to parking light PURPLE / white in driver kick
Orange - when armed NC
Door lock blue to PURPLE / grey driver kick
Door unlock green to grey / YELLOW driver kick
H4 pinout on Brain NC
H2 pinout on brain NC
My car doesn't have a factory alarm. Verified by locking, waiting and opening door.
H3 pinout
BLACK/ white now connected to ground
PURPLE / white tach to injector GREEN / WHITE
Brown brake to PURPLE / white at brake connector
Grey to now installed hood pin, didn't have a factory hood pin
Blue/white 2nd status nc, earlier I thought I had this going to pkall but I don't
Satellite ribbon plugged into brain
Pkall
Rx PURPLE / white to yellow/red at key switch
TX yellow/black to grey/purple at key switch
Key sense green to blue/grey at ignition switch
Ignition pink to ignition switch
Ground to ground I'm using 1 ground with all on ring
I'm also using to d2d on the pkall to brain. I've read that switching w2w will sometimes help. Should I or does this really matter?

I'm confused. Are you doing this D2D or W2W?
I don't see where the key sense comes into this equation.
I see it as TX, RX, (-) while running, Ignition, 12volt, and ground. The latter 2 coming from the D2D cable with one end cut off.
What does the remote start do when trying to start?
Have you tried to stick a key in the ignition barrel and then attempt the remote start?

I'm the pkall here's the list of connections from the directions, I'd take a pic but I don't k ow how to put it on here.
Connector 1
PURPLE / white data1
Yellow/black data2
Blue/white - while running status
Pink ignition
Black ground
Connector 2
D2d cable which is what I'm using to run to brain
If I switched it to w2w then
Pin 1 to 12
Pin 2 not used
Pin 3 to ground
Pin 4 not used
And then it has 2 other pinouts on back that I'm not using one for xloader I guess and the other for some other cars which I don't need for mine.

Right atm when I try to rs the parking lights flash and the pwr and acc come on then the remote start attempts but the security lock symbol flashes repeatedly with no crank. I'm going to switch the pkall to w2w and not use the d2d now. I'll post after I get it done.

Ok I got the pkall switched to w2w. Was about to repost then I seen your reply so I now also have to ground on pin 6 discontected. Still the same thing. I know see what you were talking about with the key sense wire. I took another look at the xpress website and the version 1 they are listing doesn't have a key sense wire. I couldnt even find directions on their site for the version 2 that I have. So according to the directions that came with this I have to hold button insert plug 1 then plug 2, release button, put in key 1 turn ignition on wait for security light to go off, insert key 2 with and do the same, then hold down button till it flashes, and finally hit the remote start button. And if sucusfull I'll get 10 flashes. I'm failing at the hold down button part of keys the light never comes on. When I try to remote start after all this to see if it works the light flashes some on the pkall and of course the rs doesn't start the car. I wish there was a way to test out this unit to see if I got a bad one. I got this off Amazon warehouse so maybe somebody else jacked it up.
