XKLoader2 Vs Bitwriter for Viper 4105v 1st Edition

I have a 2004 Ford F250 diesel (no key security/chip), with a viper 4105v remote start. I've just installed a Diesel fired coolant heater, and I have to reprogram my Viper 4105V. I'm confused as I've heard that it can and cant reprogram as opposed to the bitwriter. Does this have a "bitwriter mode", is DEI stopping diy'rs from accessing the software? The bitwriter is getting really hard to find at a reasonable price. I just need an auxiliary to power a relay to start the heater 15 mins before starting. The shop I used to go to wont deal with vipers anymore and I'm probably going to need to dial in the programming to not kill my batteries. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

xkloader and bit writer are 2 separate things. Xkloader is used to program bypass modules like a dball2 or 3 or the newer remote starts like the ds4 series on a computer with directech.com (have to be a dealer now a days). The bitwriter (discontinued) is just for changing setting easier on the older remote start prior to the ds4 series so your not having to push the valet button and counting flashes/siren chirps.33 years as a installer now just a retired old guy. Favorite thing to install/topic are remote starts/car alarms. Stop using test lights!!!

Taking a look at the Viper 4105V guides and wiring, I don't see any AUX outputs like the higher end units have. All I see is the Trunk output which you might not be using with your F250. If you can find a latching relay controlled by a 15 minute timer, using the 4105V's Trunk Release output would work for your coolant heater. The BitWriter is capable of programming the available options on the 4105V when connected to the Red 4 Pin D2D/BitWriter port. While DEI has prevented non-dealers from accessing their technical areas, I not aware of any changes to the BitWriter or R/S units to limit non-dealers.Soldering is fun!

Are there any options for programming aside from the bitwriter (which also unlocks some of the options that are particularly useful for diesel. The XKloader3 has a bitwriter mode, but I'm not sure if its compatible with the older 4105V. Thanks for your help guys, this is all kind of new to me. I'm more of a wrench than a plug.
