I was searching around in the forum regarding the ACURA MDX 2009 series for Viper alarm installs and could not find anything related to this car's generation and the issue. My question is, I had an alarm system that was installed and was running great for about 2 years. For some strange reason, it just stopped remote starting. I don't recall the sequence of events as it was too cold to check during the time so I just left it as is but I tried to get into it a few weeks ago and noticed that the TACH doesn't want to get "learned" into the programming. I tried every mode. Currently, the alarm system has a Viper 7756v with the FLCAN Bypass module. I was going to try and hard wire the tach but the ignition coil is literally underneath the intake manifold.
Quick description of the issue;
The alarm works, the Doors lock/unlock, and Valet Mode works fine. The only issue is the remote start, when I turn the remote start on, it signals that it turns on when prompted on the remote fob but nothing happens on the vehicle.
I do this with every TACH mode (Virtual, Voltage, etc.) nothing happens in the car but I do hear the alarm trigger the remote start to begin (if I stay inside the car) and the remote fob starts the 12-minute timer thinking it's on...
Now, if I were to leave the key in the on position (accessories) and then turn the remote start on, the vehicle cranks right up but once I remove the key the car turns off.
*I'm assuming that it's not getting power to the accessories to begin the remote start? but I'm not getting any errors on the fob letting me know. It just thinks that everything is okay and begins the time but the car does not react.
One thing I did notice when I did go underneath to recheck the wiring one of the fuses was burnt but I replaced it. Also, the last time that I could remember the remote started working right before it stopped the alarm had gone off to the point that it drained my battery, (the fob was never alerted) could it be that the battery has no power to turn on accessories? I don't think it's this as I drive the car daily and the battery is fine but I'm not sure.*
My concern is if it is the TACH that's the issue, how can I wire the tach, and if not, what method can I use to learn the tach as it's not cranking at all. I hope any can help me with this as any help can guide me toward the issue. Thank you!.
