Hello to everyone, I am new to the forum but it looks great.  I have a 1999 Dodge Durango with the keyless entry and panic button on the remote.  It is a regular black key WITHOUT chip I think.  I was looking to install a clifford alarm (prob arrow 3, intelliguard brand, concept brand or solaris).

Can I use the existing factory keyless entry and dome supervision with the new clifford alarm since it is already hooked up?  I was hoping I could connect a couple wires instead of having to wire all the locks and dome light individually because I have never installed an alarm before but installed radios, lights, etc.

Also,  being new to alarm installs, should I start small without remote engine start and add it later or just go for it and install alarm w/ remote start?  Any help would be appreciated, ie; guides, tips, hints, any special requirements or tricks for the durango, etc...

Het saurusays,

Any of those systems will work just fine but unfortunately there are no shortcuts in life.  You'll have to hard wire all those features personally but the good news is that these are easy vehicles to work on...no surprises.

If it was my truck, I'd do alarm and remote start at the same time.  This not only saves time but the install is cleaner.  But if you opt to do the r-start later then going with Clifford is a good idea since the r-starter simply plugs into the data port on the main brain and there is no rewiring required for the sensors.  1999 dodge durango keyless entry upgrade -- posted image.

Here's the wiring info for your Durango :

Thanks so much for the quick response and for the diagram.  Two more questions:

I noticed there are two ignition wires, should I be concerned and how will it affect the install and at the bottom of the diagram it says

NotesFor keyless entry upgrade to an alarm, Arm = ORANGE / Black (+), Disarm(+) = Dark Blue, Sense = Pink/Purple(+), all located in driver's door jamb.

Can you explain this or should I not be concerned with it?  And what is sense?

Thanks for the info...
