Hi, everyone.  Yesterday, I just installed a CompuStar 2WFM alarm with Remote Starter on my 2003 Acura EL.   Which is the same as a Civic SI in the U.S.

For some reason, now, when I start the car, my parking light and my dash board light went up!  And I can't shut it off!  It only come off when my car is totally shut off!

Any idea?  I asked the alarm installation guy come back to my house to have a look...

Test the parking light wire from the Compustar and make sure that you are not getting a constant output on this wire. If you are, then you have a faulty parking light output. Not familiar with Compustar, but is there an option for pulsed or steady parking light output ? Check this as well.

I hope so, I asked my Alarm guy to bring a spare unit just incase this one is gone...

But if this is a defective unit, how come my parking light flashes when I arm and disarm?

The parking light flash that the arm/disarm puts out is on a separate circuit than the RS portion of the board. The parking lights are slave to the control board ( wether it is the arm/disarm or the RS functions ).

Thanks for the help...  I will ask him to test that port...

This only happen when my key on the car to the ON position... once it is "OFF" I could turn on and off the parking light...  First I was thinking that he screw up my light switch or somethings...  but that doesn' t explain why the parking light could be turn on and off after my car is shut down...

I hope the guy show up today or tommorrow...

Just to get this straight........... you don't have to turn your parking lights on when you get into your car and turn the car over or onto the ON position ?

No, see.. here is what happen..

If my car is OFF..  all my light is OFF...  but if I start the car...  My parking light come on automaticlly...  and I can't shut it off!  I try my light switch, it didn't help..

But as soon as I shut the car down...  All my light went OFF again!  Including my parking light.....  I try to play with my light switch while the car is OFF it work fine...

It just went my car started... Even my light switch is at the "OFF" position. My Parking Light still goes on!

And my Flashing on the parking, working fine on ARMING and DISARMING the alarm....

Yup, definitely something funny with the output of the unit installed. I guess you will have to see if this problem persists if the unit is unplugged, but make sure the installer does this and not you for warranty reasons. Let us know what happens after you get it back from the installer.
