I've had a very hard time finding the BCM for my 98 intrepid (2.7 L). I found all the other diagrams for my security system but I couldn't connect the keyless entry. I know the colors of the wires I need, they go to the driver's side unlock/lock and the passenger's lock/unlock. I know where the fuse is for the BCM but I can't find the wires I need to connect to.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The wire that your looking ofr is behind the fuse panel not the BCM. You will need two relays for this and also resistors as well for lock/unlock

Are you sure? I used the diagram/list I found on this site and it said that those wires were in the BCM. Here's the link so you can see what I mean and where I'm getting this from. Thanks again. https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=1998&make=Dodge&model=Intrepid&ID=17622&type=Alarm

Well I see what you mean by those wires on that page but there are 3 other wires I need to find and that page says they are in the BCM which I can't find. I will also have to do the resistor/relay work. Thanks.

The wires colors for the BCM are only for the driver's door ( for priority door unlock ) motor. If you want the wires for ALL DOORS to lock & unlock look for them behind the fuse panel. Here is the wiring datasheet that I have for the 1998 Intrepid:

|       ITEM      |     WIRE COLOR     |POL|       WIRE LOCATION        |

|              12V|pink/black or red   |+  |ignition harness            |

|       TACHOMETER|*5                  |   |one of the coils            |
|       BRAKE WIRE|WHITE/ tan           |+  |at brake switch             |
|     HORN TRIGGER|BLACK/ red           |-  |steering column             |
|           WIPERS|                    |   |                            |
|  LF WINDOW UP/DN|lt. blue - white    |A  |at drivers door motor       |
|  RF WINDOW UP/DN|brn/wht - pur/wht   |A  |in drivers door or dkp      |
|  LR WINDOW UP/DN|blu/wht - RED / blu   |A  |in drivers door or dkp      |
|  RR WINDOW UP/DN|gry/blk - grn/wht   |A  |in drivers door or dkp      |

Notes:

NOTE: Chrysler vehicles that use a gray ignition key have an immobilizer system that needs to be bypassed when remote starting. Use DEI part number 555C or 555U.  *1 Locks are positive trigger through resistors. Use 2.7K (2700) ohms for lock and 620 ohms for unlock.  *2 BCM is located on the left side of dash with junction block.  *3 Use a 110 ohm resistor to ground (-) for parking lights and a 220 ohm resistor to ground (-) will do both headlights and parking lights.  *4 In a brown connector at the rear of the fuse box.  *5 This vehicle has an ignition coil for each cylinder. For tach use a tan/stripe wire at any one of the coils.

What other wires do you need to grab at the BCM ?? The lock wires at the BCM are Driver's MOTOR only so if you tap into them you will only control the driver's door lock/unlock. The DISARM DEFEAT is not necessary for installation for the RS.

So if I use the "all lock" wires then I won't even need to do anything with the BCM wires right? Thanks again for your help, I'm going to try this out today and if I still don't get it I'll be back tomorrow. Also, I assume that if I only use these wires will I just end up with every door unlocking and I won't be able to solely unlock the driver's door. How would I have to wire it so I could open either just the driver door or all doors? Sorry I'm not always following you I'm somewhat new to wiring my car and just want to take extra care so I don't misinterpret anything and blow my car up when I push the button to unlock my door.

Oh I think I misled you. I know which colors the wires in the BCM are...I just don't know where the BCM wires are. I just meant that if I could find the BCM then I would know which colors to look for. In other words, I haven't wired the doors yet.

The only wire that you will need to grab at the BCM would be the driver's door unlock for priority door unlocking where you press the unlock button of the remote control and the driver's door will unlock and press the button again and your other doors will unlock. Your KE will have to have this function otherwise you will need to wire up additional relays to accomplish this task.

What brandd KE are you installing ?

I'm installing a DEI Rattler. I think there are only 2 wires left so it's should just be the two you mentioned, the driver's and then the passengers unlock/lock, but can't figure out which wires are the BCM.
