I got a cheap Black Widow alarm- BW2150, and I'm looking to upgrade it now that I have saved money. My first question is about the horn (siren?) that came with the BW. It's not all that loud, and I was wondering if it's possible -or practical- to add another horn to it.

My next question is about adding a pager. I have heard good things from Commando alarms, and I am looking at one of their universal lcd pagers. I am thinking about installing that myself, but I have no experiance with alarms at all. Here is a link to it:

Anyone think it would be difficult to do for a beginner? I would like to tie it in with my BW alarm.

Also, I would be willing to pay someone to do it if they live in Iowa- anywhere near Cedar Rapids would be good.

I sell Commando alarms and accessories and I have had no trouble out of them. The people are a pleasure to deal with and when you order the pager from www.commandoalarms.com they give you a toll free tech line to answer any questions you have. You can do it yourself. Dont let anyone tell you diffrent. Read the installation manuals and take your time. If you have a question call the hotline and ask to talk to Ryan. Tell him that I sent you to him. Thanks for the help. I will indeed buy from them after knowing this. Plus, I do have this amazing site for resources/help from members, so I think it should be possible. Thanks for the hotline tip too, I just may need it : )

I am still waiting on the multiple siren question too. If done, would this prove to be worthwhile? I.E.- would it increase the volume of the horn?

Personally, I think the loudest siren you can get is your horn.(factory car horn) I've done alarms with 4 and 5 sirens that are loud as all hell. I've also done alarms with only one or two sirens, and the factory horn hooked to a flasher to make it honk on and off. Those are so loud that they can wake the dead. The only bad part about it is, tapping into the horn wires to make it flash properly you need to tap in AFTER the horn relay which usually means tapping in somewhere under the hood or even at the horn itself. But the advantage is that its very loud, plus your car stands out from the rest. People hear alarms go off all the time and say "is that mine ?", but if you hear a siren AND a horn at the same time, you know dam good and well its yours! Another benefit is from theives. Some professionals know how to reach from underneath your car and cut the siren wire and then they break into your car and rip out the alarm. But they usually dont think to cut the horn wires too.

Thanks for the response. This is something I may end up doing later, hopefully installing it myself. (running low on money) I will give it a shot later.
