Actuator install help?

You will need to mount the actuator securely and as close to straight with the locking rod. Then test fit the rod making sure that it will be able to extend without being obstructed. If you need to bend the actuators rod you can do so, try to keep it simple. Trust me, if I can fit a 35lb solienoid in a civic's door you can get an actuator.Certified Security Specialist

I've been sick lately, sorry I won't be on much.

I can get the actuator to fit in the door. That isnt the problem. But everytime I put it in a different place it doesnt work. The actuator will activate and the rod that is connected to the actuator will slightly bend. It wont unlock or lock the doors. It acts as if there is too much resistance in the door lock rod. I was thinking that there might be a specific place that it normally is placed into the door.

As much as I'd hate to say so, it took me a lot of trial and error the first time I put them in my car. I put the actuators on the door where the door panel armrest would hit....so there's more room. You know what I mean? Where the armrest goes up against the door, there will be room behind it. When I attached the actuator, I only bent the rod a little bit, and kept it as parallel to the door's rod as possible. If you do it too perpendicular, then it will just push the door's rod in the wrong direction (up instead of right).Q: What's the best nation in the world?
