I just purchased a UNGO RS151 remote start for my car.  I have a UNGO security system already installed on the vehicle (1993 Grand Prix GTP).  My question is...do I have to hook up ALL the wiring from the remote start??  The door lock, hood switch, etc is already wired for the security system.  I was thinking I could just wire the auxillary from the secirity system to the remote start??

Thanks

Cam

addon usually never have lock/unlock wires, if so you have an stand-alone unit not an add-on.
so if you have an add-on which presume you do, then hook up all the wires for the addon RS like ign, starter, acc, tach.....
with the initiate wire or start wire, tie it to the auxilary output from the main unit.

I guess I worded that wrong.  The remote start IS a stand alone system, not an add on.  Can I wire it as you said, even though it is a stand alone??  I expect all the buttons on the RS remote will not work if I wire it this way??

You do not NEED to install the hood pin, but it is an important safety feature. If you dont hook something up, you are right, the tranmitter will not perform that operation. Do you want to use it as an addon or do you want to use both transmitters?
You need to install the brake, the parking lights if you want them to turn on, the Starter output (on the engine side of the starter kill relay), All the ignition and Accessory wires that you vehicle has, and the tach wire. Perhaps even a disarm wire if necessary. I would install the hood pin wire too.
it is much nicer to have one combo unit.

I've decided I will wire everything up.  That way I can use either transmitter, if I want.
