Hey all,

Used your site alot , but first time I ever asked any ?'s.  I have a 99 GMC sierra ext cab truck with manual locks/windows.  I'm wanting to before christmas get at least power locks in the truck.  I see that valiant has a keyless entry system with all parts need for 99 at jcwhitney.   Is that a good brand to chose.

If not is there any other kits that come with keyless plus parts to due this?

Thanks in advance!!!

You can use universal actuators that are the same quality as those on JC Whittney's site for alot less on eBay. All you need to do it get a set of relays and some actuators and the cost would be about $ 15 - 20.

thanks for the reply!!

Is the only place you can get those are at ebay?

Also how do you hook them up then?   I've know A LOT about electrical and such, but you mention relays and such is there any write up on this?   Can I just get the two actuators from a junk yard?     what do I all need to pick up?  just the actuators, or more?

thanks for any and all help you give!!

No, you can get them at alomost any place that sells and installs alarms & remote starter's. It's just the cheapest place that I could think of. If you want to have someone install it and have warranty, then go to a shop. eBay doesn't really give you products with warranty unless it's from a reputable business. Hook up 2 relays likethis: http://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/104.jpg

dont get them at junkyards, theyre really expensive, 20-40 bucks. they wont sell the actuator alone, they sell it with the latch.
heres one place to get them

thanks for all the info !!

And the diagram for the locks,  so i would just need to run the wire from the 30 on the relays over to the pass door for them to work as well.,   How due you hook up a switch to it.  and what time of lock/unlock switch can i use,  just a basic on from radio shack???

? on the diagram.   to hooking this up.

There is always a constant 12 power to the relays.   but there are 2 different (-) to the relays.  one is to lock and the other is to unlock.   How would I wire up some time of switch to that?   I'm kind of confussed on that part.   IWhould I have a switch that had 3 positions on it?   push down would unlock, push up lock. and then a constal middle?  where would i find these switches.

Also to make this work on the other door would I just need to run wires from replay 30 to each wire on the actuator on the pass door.

Is there any write up/instructions beside this image on setting these up?

Thanks!!!
