I just bought a 97 chevy suburban. The keyless entry locks and unlocks the doors, however the lock/unlock switch on both the drivers door and the passenger door does not work. Is there a relay or fuse that I can check that is common to both of these switches? Is there something else I should look for? Thanks.

You can check the contact that the switches are on to make sure that they are still clean and free from dust and dirt. Check to see if there are any broken or cut wires that the switch requires in order for them to work on the door panel. You will need to take the door panel off in order to do this.

I did some checking in my manual and found that the door lock switches are on the same fuse as the power amp, the power lumbar supports, and the cigarette lighter. That fuse (#13) was blown. I replaced it and it blew immediately. I pulled the lighter out and replaced the fuse and it didn't blow. The locks and lumbar supports (which I didn't know were'nt working) all work now. I tried a lighter out of another vehicle to make sure it was the lighter and not the socket. That lighter worked so I tossed the bad one. Thanks for the help. Next time I'll check the manual first. Thanks
