I come to you in need of help. I own a 1995 s10, 2.2, 4cyl. I swapped out engines with a 2000 2.2 4cyl, auto. My problem is, passlock is keeping me from running  the truck. The truck will start up fine then die after 2-3 seconds (PASSLOCK). I have read that you can splice into the column wires (3) but my truck is a 1995 and wouldn't have those wires, Right? I do not have the 2000 BCM, All I have from the 2000 truck is the engine, tranny, comp, and harness. I have found a trick to start the vehicle. I unplug the harnesses in the comp turn the key to run. reconnect the harness and 8 out of 10 times it fires up and run. But once you turn it off, you then have to unplug/plug trick. Since This is my wife's only vehicle and I am to depart back to Iraq, I am loosing my mind to try get this thing running in a short time. Please if you have any info that might help or someone I might contact would be very appreciating. Thanks in advance. Sgt Sparks/USMC

if you get the ingntion cylinder that was in the truck that you took the bcm out of it should solve your passlock prolblem. The trucks computer is looking for the right resistence in the key cylinder. It might work.

another thing you can try is to put the key in the key cylinder turn it to the run postion and wait I think about ten mins or so it might reset the computer passlock system.
