Hey guys, I just attemted to put a new Omega Comfort Start and a PASS4 on a '04 F150. I got everything to work fine except....I couldn't get my PASS4 to read the key..i tried a many different positions in the box and with the ring(like 2 hours lol) and NO luck. Also, Could't find a good tach signal at the coil or the injector, It would confirm that it learned the tach signal but on every 3rd or 4th start it would grind or try to restart after it was started, finally my backup plan was to use the SmartSense feature but that didnt work either. Any suggestions? Another installer friend of mine said he has done 3 or 4 with no problem though he is using DEI ??

Just a thought, i'm not sure on the PASS4 you have but all my ford ignition modules are One-Time use. That means if you screw up, it is already programmed and can not be programmed again, you may have one that was already programmed. I've had one of mine before that was programmed out of the bag. May want to try another one or even a different manufacturers module. I recommend GIT Securty, they seem shady, but they make amazing product, I think its just the website that looks shady, but i hear they got a new site....i'll have to check it out.

As for the grind or restart....likely a connection issue, check your ignition wires are soldered to hell and also check your ground, gotta be anal about these things.

i am an omega dealer there is a recall on the comfortstarts the chip inside on the first 2000 units is defective and sometimes will give you the overcranking also the smartstart will totally not work just call omega and they will send a new chip (just pull it out and stick the new one in)) as far as the pass4 try pulling the foam off the boards and tape the 2 sides to the key this will probally work , but did you try another ring sometimes they are bad also good luck

the part #for chip is 777 also there is a new longer antenna cable part #h-cf-ant

seems like they were in too big of a hurry to get these out
