01 'Ford Focus Alternator Light

Anybody have a problem with the alternator light and the F10 fuse in the engine compartment when you install a remote starter.  When the remote starter trys to crank the engine , the fuse blows and the generator will no longer charge until a new fuse is put in.  I triple checked all my wires and even had the dealer where I bought the starter replace the unit in case. Still blows the breaker.  Funny part is that the fuse only goes right to the generator and the data-link connector, neither which is tied to the alarm/starter.  Any ideas???

The current demand is either too high, or the rated fuse is too small for the circuit. If the fuse blew immediately upon insertion, then your problem is a dead short. If the fuse blows after (cranking) then the current draw is too high, or the fuse is not rated properly. Then again, the wiring may not be correct for the RS. I would start from the basics and ensure that all power leads that the RS requires is indeed taken directly from the vehicles battery. If the unit is currently wired to recieve direct power from the battery and it still blows a fuse, then you must follow the trouble shooting procedures one at a time. Regards EVIL Teken . . .
