Hello, I have a 1987 B2200 Mazda Extended cab pickup with an EXCALIBUR AL-700j security alarm. I have aftermarket power door locks and power windows. Alarm was installed professionally years ago. Problem, new motor was put in and some of the alarm wires were disconnected. Need help reinstalling the following:

1. Where do I connect the blue trigger (-) wire from the alarm brain to my truck?

These are already connected, violet door (+) wire, green door (-) wire, gray trunk (-) wire.

2. Where do I connect the orange starter (-) wire from the alarm brain? Is it like a ground; one that I can wire to my chasis.

3. Where do I connect the yellow Acc 12v wire from the alarm brain to my truck?

Any help would be wonderful.

the yellow wire go to switched 12v

the orange wire goes to a relay for your starter disable

i think you have neg door trigger, so you will hook up the green wire to the pin switch for the door..

you will not need the violet wire

if you have a motion sensor under the hood, the blue wire will hook up to that...

if you need a book on that unit call: 1-800-554-4053

hit 0 when the recording starts when someone picks up tell them what alarm you have and they will send you a book for it...

Thanks drassch. Now everything is connected.

New problem:

Alarm chirps when battery cables are hooked up. If I hold the remote button, alarm engages. Door locks work with remote. However I am unable to set the alarm and it won't do it by itself.

Help please.

Are you referring to enabling the *passive arm* mode? Or is the alarm simply not working at all, even when you depress the arming button?

Okay. When the battery is connected, I am able to hold down my remote button for a few seconds and my alarm fires. I can press my remote button to turn it off. My led light has failed to light on any occasion.

So basically, the alarm is fully connected like when it was orginally installed. I'm wondering if I placed the yellow 12v acc wire correctly to my truck. I ran it to my fuse box inside my cabin, directly into the 'cleaner' fuse stop. It only has power when the key is in the ignition.

Hello. I have an Excalibur Al-700j alarm installed in a Mazda B2200 1987 pickup. Can my security alarm caused my lighting problem?

My turn signals all work. My headlights work. Once I turn on my headlights my tailight fuse pops. It turns out that my tailight and brake lights don't work at all. I have checked bulbs, replaced tailights.

Note: My side markers do not flash when my alarm is on. No lights whatsoever.

If anyone can shed light, please do.

Disconnect the alarm from the vehicle and see if everything works the way it should. Re-connect the alarm harness an if the fuse blows again you know it's because of the alarm system.
