I am currently installing an alarm/rs to my friends Acura Integra 91 and i am having trouble finding the tach wire in the engine compartment, door lock/unlock wires, door trigger, and trunk pin trigger. I have teh wiring diagram and it says the drivers kick panel for they wires but does not specify if it is on a plug connector or jus wrapped with a whole bunch of wires. If tehse are in a plug connector can someone tell me what color the connector is and the color wire. I would also like to know how to test these wires for polarity with a dmm on the trigger and door lock wires and also on the tach wire. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tach: It is located at the distributor ( look for the silver box where all the plug wires go to ) and it attached to the side of it with about 12-15 wires. There will be a blue on in the bunch. To test take your RED lead of the DMM to constant and the (-) to the blue wire. Start the car and it will register between 1-6 volts and will fluctuate up and down according to the engine speed.

Door Lock wires: These are best to grab at the passenger side kick panel. They are in a loom of wires and you must remove the kick panel and find these wires there. They are (-) trigger and will not need a relay. TO test find the target wire and have the red lead of the DMM to the target wire and the black lead to ground. When you toggle the switch the DMM should read 0 and when it is at rest it should read 12 volts.

Door Trigger : Grab the door trigger wire at the driver's kick panel. It looks like a 14 awg wire, but is mostly insulation. The wire rests at 12 volts and when the door is open it should register 0.

Trunk trigger : Same location as the door trigger and same testing methods. These wires are best found in the loom of wires and not at the plug.

All the wires will eventually end at the plug at the fuse box, but you can grab any of them before it gets there. More convenient to do it that way any ways.

Use the door trigger wire for the dome light supervision.
