My buddy's Kia left him stranded, says that the car does not crank. I suspect the keyless entry. He has all power, starter is good, alternator and battery check good, any way to bypass the module? It could be a dead battery in the key remote too. hmm. I will go there in a few hours any suggestions would be very kind and appreciated.

Thankyou,

Forgot to add that everything is factory no aftermarket accessories. All functions for the keyless entry is built into the key. (huge Key)

Thanks,

Can't see the OEM keyless entry being the culprit for the starter not wanting to turn over ? I've had in the past that the OEM starter wire just did not carry the 12 volt signal to the starter motor after an installation for someone. It worked all day and when I put everything back together... no crank. Checked for continuity between the starter motor and the key and nothing there. Ran a new 8 gauge wire to the starter motor from the starter disable relay and it's been working fine for him for about a year now.

Thanks Jeff,

Come to find out this morning when I went to check his car, he did not describe to me exactly what was wrong with it. What he meant to tell me was that he could not get the key to turn to the start position. Reason was that the steering wheel was locked. Then you just have to pull it a little to the other side to turn the key. 2002 Kia Optima/no crank -- posted image. He really fealt embarassed but I told him "hey it's a Monday" but thanks for the info Jeff, I appreciate it.
