i put a remote starter in a 2003 suburban, cant remember the model #, but it was by valet. i used a crime stopper all in one bypass, its one of those ones that plugs into the diag port and does the locks and the passlock. anyway, the guy's telling me that the heat wont work, and the heated seats come on for no reason. need help bad. please reply with any thoughts. they never covered problems like this at my school. im lost. thanks.

Ok- you should be using the Red for 12v

white - Ign #2

Org - Accessory

Yellow - Starter

Pink - Ign #1

Brake wire is Blue or White at pedal

The interface you used for the Door locks? Well you should use the DEI 456G. It works perfect EVERY time.

The passlock system - use the DEI 555L

I use Audiovox remote starters - They work awesome!!

yeah tru, audiovox makes great security! we sell them at our shop and ive never had a problem with any of the ones ive installed. everything else they make sucks! lol but the alarms and remote starters are great. and just another thing, the orange is accessory 1, but the brown accessory 2 wire has to be powered up too and diode isolated. I had this same exact problem in a 2003 avalanche and the reason was because that brown wire was not powered up.

I have never had the problem not powering up the Brown wire.. I dont use that one because all it does is the wipers and the radio.

Not too sure why you have the problems you do with it .. maybe check over EVERY connection you made

I show the 03 Suburban needs the Brown powered as an Accessory.

The brown accessory wire is still a mystery to me..I don't think there is any type of pattern to this wire it seems completely random..99 times out of 100 you don't need it, but then that 1 time you will need it. And that's even though it may be on the same car you've done 10 times without it..I have yet to power it up on a suburban or avalanche..I have needed to fire it up on an 03 sunfire because the gauges didn't come on and something about the tach sitting at zero with the car running didn't sit right with me..

Also you didn't quite specifiy but the heat doesn't work when remote started or doesn't work period? If only when remote started definately check your connection to the orange wire, and fire up the brown wire if needed.

If it doesn't work at all if using the key or remote start, I would start check fuses and go from there. Check EVERY fuse in the fusebox both inside and under the hood not just the ones relating to the heat.

thanks alot for the input. im going to check on that as soon as i can. it just kinda scares me how some of you say its neccessary, and others say it is not. why would that be? i always thought all cars were made the same.

i have done several 03 sububans and never use the brown because of what is stated above. the first time you have a customer come in and say i park my car and wipers were working then next day remote started vehicle and now wipers dont work now they think your remote starter burned out their wipers in other words it just saves alot of explaining why the wipers burned out because they left on and they were stuck to the windshield

check the wiring as stated above by soundzplus

as far as the heated seats i would say it is either a memory thing (does it have overhead console for programming memoryfeatures for each driver) or the module is sending a wrong code to computer
