I just installed a remote starter / security on my 99 Honda Civic, Keyless entry and alarm system is working just fine except the remote starter, I doubled check the wiring and everything is fine but there is one wire that is not connected and that is Starter Kill Output, Anyone know if it is necessary? Please post a message for this topic. Thanks in advance...

it is not neccesarry, but if you are hooking up a starter kill relay then it is, and as far as your rs not working, you need a bypass module, it is the number 555u by dei

I don't believe honda started using the chipped keys until the 2001 and up models on the civics, what kind of problems are you having with the remote start.

No bypass module required for the 99 Civic. Just make sure that you are getting a 12 volt signal to the starter wire and also that you are bypassing the clutch properly. The unit also has to be placed into ready ( or safe ) mode prior to leaving the car in order for you to remote start it. If the ready mode is not activated prior to leaving the car, it will not start.

Crank12 what was the issue with it? How do you place the car in safe mode?

ready or safe mode ususally applies to remote start units designed for manual transmissions. it forces the driver to leave the shifter in neutral before the engine will turn off. the RS is re activated by the e brake being set, the car stays running when the key is removed, then the RS dies after the drivers door trigger opens and closes. that way the car is in neutral and the clutch is out and the driver has left the car. it minimizes the chance of starting in gear.
