I hooked up the green wire behind the light switch for parking light flash on an 02 Chevy Crew Cab P/U... It worked, but I should have hooked up the Lt Blue.

1 wk. later smoke came from the switch side of the dash and now the dimmer control does not work.  I took apart the light switch and can find nothing wrong nor burnt...Is there a separate module in the dash area that controls the dimmer, which I might have fried? Please help if possible...this is a very stressful and unusual situation for me.   Any info. or insight is very helpful at this time..  Thankyou.      Dan

you smoked the dimmer in the vehicle you probably need a new switch assembly and all should be good! You tagged a wire that varied with the dimmer(rheostat) and that is why it burnt. I think that the switch was smoking because of the variable resistor in the unit got fried.02 Chevy Crew Cab Dimmer -- posted image. sorry bro sounds like u need a new switch.

yea dude sounds like its shot. Next time you should listen to that little voice that says check every connection and on the parking lights, check to make sure you don't have the dimmer.
