Reverse polarity

The information found on the left side has been a huge help to me.  I am still learning about all the different types of systems in the security world, and having a resource like that has been very helpful.

Well I just did a reverse polarity system (98 Dodge Ram) and found out a way to wire it with 2 relays instead of 4 shown in the article to the left.  I wasn't sure who to mention this to, so I thought I would post it here.

The two relays will be wired the same, but one for lock and the other for unlock.  First find the wires you will need and cut them.  85 should be the negative trigger from the alarm, 86 should be 12 volts positive, 87 should also be 12 volts positive, 87a should be going to the switch side, and 30 should go to the motor side.

Also, when searching for wiring codes for 2001 and newer vehicles, I notice the topics are always closed.  Sometimes when doing an install, I find that sometimes the wire colors mentioned are wrong.  I thought it would be helpful to post the correct information for others to see, but the closed thread prevents that.  I just wanted to request that you guys would keep those threads open.

I DONT KNOW what INFO YOU GOT BUT I'VE NEVER NEEDED MORE THEN 2 RELAYS TO WIRE REVERSE POLARITY LOCKS... sorry about the caps, just noticed

this is not a free wiring info website, there are websites dedicated to providing nothing but wiring info, course they are not usually free...it's tough to keep threads open indefinately...just post what vehicle you are working on or need help with when you need it and i'm sure lots of help will come your way
