Hello

I posted here yesterday with the topic 2002 Ranger Keyless Entry Q but my browser locked up and when i restarted it  it wont let me view the post So here it is again.

i recently added a central power locking kit to my ranger  Commando kit http://www.commandocaralarms.com/itemdetails.asp?Productid=604  I was intrested in adding keyless entry as well so i got this kit.  Re-30  http://www.commandocaralarms.com/itemdetails.asp?Productid=1189.  I know where the wires are in my truck and which ones that i need to access.  but i had a question about some of the relays that it says are optional.

1.  Do i need to use a relay for the horn or can i just tap from the commando units Brown wire into the Yellow/Lt. Green Wire that triggers teh horn on the steering column.

2.  Do i need a relay for my parking lamps or can i just go from teh commando units White wire to the Brown wire at the headlamp switch.

3.  The dome light circuit has me somewhat baffled.  The way i am reading this is that i would use the door trigger wires in the left kick panel.  or Do i use the wire for the domelight.  I will have to diode isolate the trigger wires as well.

I understand thsi unit does not have onboard relays and u know i will have to use a few for this install, This is my first install and i'm still learning the ropes. Any help would be great appreciated.

depends on what the output is for the horn wire....
again, if the wire is a 12v output, then yes you can go right to the parking light wire...make sure you have a fuse in-line. min 10 amp.
Dome Light BLACK/ L BLUE (+) LEFT KICK PANEL
Parking Lamp BROWN (+) AT HEADLIGHT SWITCH
* Ford's G.E.M. May Drop A Low Signal Across The Dome Light And In Most Cases Cause A False Trigger. To Eliminate This Cut the Door Pin Trigger Wires At The G.E.M. And Insert A One-Amp Diode With Band Side Faceing Doors.Make Your Isolated Connection On The Door Pin Side. The GEM (Generic Electronic Module) is to the left of the radio.Door Pin Wires:YELLOW/BLACK (DR), GRAY/RED (PS)
Good Luck

Thanks David

The Parking light output is positive.  not sure if its 12v or not i would have to get my meter out.

According to this sheet its showing the polarity on the Horn as being negitive, on the truck.

Looking in the manual it  shoes the horn wire as being.

 H1/3.  Brown Wire -  (-) 200mA Horn output.

this wire is provided to use existing vehicle's horn as the alarm system's oprional's warning audible device.  It's a transistorized low current output, and should only be connected to the low current ground output from the vehicles horn switch.  When teh alarm is triggered the horn will sound.

If i am getting this its saying to connect this wire to the neagitive side of the horn switch?.
