Hey,

I currently have a 97 civic EX and a crimestopper2015 alarm, I was wondering if there was a way to have this alarm trigger when the trunk is open, I understand the alarm goes off when the dome light senses the doors are open, but my dome light doesnt go on when the trunk is opened.  so i was wondering if anyone knew how to wire it to do so..

Or my other option is to have one of those pins put in the trunk, but the problem with that is would it be ok to have a pin both for the hood and trunk running to the same ground on the alarm, or would there be a conflict.

Hope this makes sense, lol

Thanks for any help

If the trunk has a light in it, that comes on when the trunk is open, there is no need to add another switch.

If the trunk has no switch, you can add a pin switch to show ground when it is opened.

To connect this to the hood trigger of the alarm, simply add 2 diodes.

1 diode for the wire from the hood switch, one from the trunck switch

twist and solder togather the NON STRIPED sides of the diodes along with the input wire to your brain.

The two leads coming from the STRIPED SIDE of the diodes are connected to each one of your switches.

Hope this helps!!!!

Did that work???????

Thanks for the reply, The trunk does in fact have a light in it, but when it goes on it doesnt trigger the alarm,  does this mean I can just runa  wire back there to the light? Sorry I'm sorta new to all this electrical stuff.

Thanks again

Chris

yea you can use the light as a trigger, look for a wire that goes to ground when the trunk is opened--- blue/black wire I think

run to stripe side of diode as detailed in my last post

good luck, let me know if you need more help
