Hey Guys,

I'm having problems loacting the tach sensor wire in my car, it says its a PURPLE / white wire in teh ign module, what is the best way to get to teh ignition module, I'm not sure how to start taking apart the underbody of my steering wheel. Also, is there another source I can use as a tach sensor that would be easier?

I'm working with a 1993 Chevy Lumina Euro 4D sedan.

Thanks!

The tach wire is in the looming that runs parallel in front of the engine block. Wire is PURPLE / WHITE and you will need to pull back the looming to get at it.

must the wire by PURPLE / white, i see a purple wire, but not a purple white one, maybe I'm not looking the right place. I see two sets of wires and a purple on in the smaller set. Its purple with a white stripe?

Find the ignition module in the engine bay then follow that wire loom to a spot that you can tap into and check that PURPLE / white wire with a dmm for ac voltrage only while running you should get between 1-6 volts ac this is alternating current not dc so set the meter correct. This wire will also fluctuate with engine speed but this is not as meaningfull as getting an ac wire that reads between 1 volt and 6 volts ac.
