I have a 2001 Monte Carlo LS.  Since 6-7, I when I start me car, my radio shuts off and I get a "Locked Cal Err" display on my radio.  When I am driving, if I slow down but do not stop or if I accelerate rapidly, My message center will show the "Red Battery" followed by the "Security" light for about 3 or 4 seconds.  This only happens when the car has been in direct sun light for a while, in the morning or in the evening or when it is overcast and cloudy, I do not get any messages or errors.  I thought maybe it was my Passlock system so I let the key in the ignition for about 25 minutes but the security light never stopped flashing.  (it was the security and battery light alternately flashing).  I disconnected the negative battery cable for about 3 hours this past weekend but that did not help.  Any advice woud be greatly appreciated.

one more thing, do you think I need to be concerned with maybe a pre-programmed amount of starts before the car will not start at all?
