I just installed a keyless entry system on subject vehicle and it works fine (hooked in to switch in driver's door).  However, now I would like to wire it so that only the driver door unlocks on the first pulse and all doors on the second pulse.  Do I need to hook in to the door lock motor to do this?  Also, would I need to wire up a relay?

I basically want it to act like the factory system.  Press once driver door unlocks, press again all doors unlock.

Thanks,

Peter

First you need to have that as a feature from the keyless entry unit. Then if you look at the drivers door module again, there should be a Brown wire that is for the Drivers door only. Test it to check its polarity. That is all of the information I have so it might not work but it is worth testing. For example though: if the brown wire requires a negative pulse to activate it, then you would pulse that wire with a negative pulse from the unlock wire of the keyless entry. Then you would use the 2nd unlock wire for the rest of the doors.
There are other ways to make it work, but I couldn't help you there. I leave that feature alone 99% of the time anyway unless a customer really wants it, and then I charge them big bucks to do it. I dont guarantee it either since some cars are just too much of a hassle to get it to work. The feature is not that great anyway.
Sorry I couldn't help more.

I can program single or double pulse so that's not an issue.  Can I hook into the signal wire that goes from the actual lock cylinder to the door lock motor/switch?

single or double pulse is just that! a single or double pulse. it's used on some vehicles that require a double pulse to unlock. if you want it to act like a factory keyless, it needs a 2nd/all unlock output. follow the link and notice where it says 2nd unlock.

I understand the concept of single and double pulse.  The problem is that when you tap into the door lock switch at the driver's door your only option is to lock/unlock all the doors at once by using a double pulse.  Single pulse does nothing at that location.

I want to know if there is an alternate location to tap into where I can use a single pulse to unlock just the driver's door and if I want to unlock all the doors I just hit the unlock button on the remote a second time to send the second pulse.

I'm thinking that there must be a way to tap into the signal from the lock cylinder to the lock switch because when I turn the key once to unlock the door, it opens just the driver door.  If I turn the key twice it unlocks all the doors.

Guess I'll just have to take the door panel off and experiment.
