Hey All,

I used to sell and install car audio/security about 5 years ago over a period of about 3 years.  Well time has come for me to purchase a new car alarm for a classic car I am buying.  I was hoping some of you guys could give me some advice on what system or at least brand I should look into now since things have changed so much.

Willing to spend around: $350

Options: Need Proximity sensor for T-Tops, basic shock, starter kill, would like door pins and hood pin, no power locks.  Also, was interested in the paging system where I can be alerted if car is being intruded on by pager ( not a must though)

Vehicle: Goin into a 1971 Corvette T-Tops.  Very basic wiring system in this old vehicle, no power locks ect.

Compustar or DEI products top my list. They are both very good systems and have bullet proof products. The only thing with DEI is that they will not warranty anything that is not installed by an authorized DEI installer. Compustar is a little more forgiving than DEI, but not much. Look at a reliable seller for these that can give you tech support and also warranty if you install the unit yourself.
