Hi all,
I'm in planning on installing the Compustar 2WSS-AS to a 2005 Subaru STi. I'm fairly handy electronic and mechanic wise. Engineering background and have rewired cars, installed stand alone ECU, Stereos and Car alarm in the past. Mechanically, I pretty much know everything about the engine, suspension, body parts, etc.
I've looked at the Compustar Install & Wiring manual and it's somewhat compusing. I'm sure it makes sense to most of the "Installer" but other wise, it's very poor for someone who have good electronics background.
I'm planning on using the factory alarm and keyless entry wirings as much as possible. I have a few questions and hope the expert guys here can help out.
- The 2005 STi have a factory immobilizer. Whic DEI 555? module should I use for this car?
- What is the difference between DEI 529T & 530T?
- Can I use the 529T for the back windows and the 530T for the front.
- Is it possible to triggert both 529T & 530T with Aux. channel #1? I plan on using the Aux #2 for a trunk solenoid.
- Will the HKS Turbo Timer harness for 2004 STi work with the 2005? '04 STi does not have immobilizer. I plan on using the harness to connect the Turbo Timer feature of the Compustar.
Well that's it for now. I know I will have more questions later.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

you migght want to look at the 04 sti for a reference.
i wouldnt waste money tryin to get HKS timer. compustar has true ttimer built-in.
530t has both operation(up and down) for 2 windows. 529t has only one operation.

I just installed one on my '05 STi about 2 months ago!!!!

Use the DEI 555U.

I don't know about the 529 and 530...  Didn't do anything with the windows.

I imagine the TT harness would work...  Are you trying to install the TT as well or just use the CS TT?  I didn't have a TT harness so I just used the wires whereever I could find them.  Took about a whole weekend to install it, integrating everything into factory wires and looms and such so it all looks stock.  The alarm works great though.  And I love the car.  Excellent choice!  If you have any more specific questions about where to find wires or how to do the transponder bypass, I can help you out.
