300zx alarm install

HI. this is my first time installing an alarm. I have a FM 2 way alarm.

the following is how i connected the wires.

direct = to the wire mentioned (with no relays, diodes, nothing)

relayed = connected to a relay

as far as the window roll up module i connected it like this

This is what i did, please let me know if i did it correctly or not and what needs to be changed. I have a 300zx 93 na. the alarm brains is not connected as of yet. just the wirring. i would like to make sure that it is right, before i connect it.

• The door lock system is a single wire (-) trigger system. Here's the wiring diagram for it: http://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/244.jpg
• Make sure that the window module that you have is capable of rolling up or down the windows with a pulsed input signal. Some require a latched or continuous signal and the internal circuit will automatically kick power off when it detects a voltage spike.
• You do not need to connect the (+) door trigger wire. You only have the (-) wire to worry about
• DO NOT use ignition #2 output for your 2nd starter wire unless there is a jumper on the unit that switched between 2nd IGN, 2nd Start or 2nd ACC and you put it to 2nd Start.  The wire from the unit will be either a (-) trigger wire for a relay or a (+) wire for a direct feed to the 2nd IGN wire. This will will have CONSTANT voltage meaning that it will leave 12 volts on the starter wire for as long as the car is running, not good for the starter. 1)I have already done the doors and this was the way i did it. later on i found the single wire digram, but i think the way i did it should do. what do u think?

2) I wil check it. (do i need a relay to connect the module to the alarm or i can connect it directly)

3) would it effect if i connected the door trigger wire (+)? it is already connected and it would be a paint to take it out.

4) just to make sure that i got it right.

The primary starter wire goes to the starter out put on the alarm and the prong 85 on the relay.

86 on the relay is grounded to the chassis or  somewhere else?

30 on the relay is connected the ign# 2

87 on the relay is connect to +12V.

87a is nothing.

1) It shouldn't work. The way you have it give the door locks a (+) pulse. Ground brown wire to unlock, cut it to lock is the way this system works.

2) You have to check to see how the modules work .

3) What do you have connected to the (+) wire if you have the (-) connected to the door trigger ?

4) No, this is how it should be

• 87 - 12 volt constant
• 85 - Primary start wire
• 86 - Ground out when running wire ( which is your BLUE/ORANGE on the remote starter )
• 30 - The 2nd START wire ( BLACK / YELLOW )
• 87a - NOT USED

i guess the only thing confusing me now is the "to vehicle's starter's starter output" at the bottom of the pic which is coming from primary start wire. where does it go to? to the starter? if yes what about the violet wire. what about the brown wire from the alarm harness.

what would happen if i just did not connect the ign 2 at all?

The diagram is very self explanatory. I don't know how better to explain the diagram. If you can't read the simple diagram for the 2nd starter and the detailed description that I gave you in the previous post, then I suggest you let someone else handle the rest of the installation cause you will end up damaging something on this vehicle.

If you continue with the installation, just look at what I wrote on the previous post and use the diagram to help you, it ALL there.

I see how it works now. it did not make sense to me, because of my misunderstanding of how the ignition works, again this is all new to me. i connected it according to the digram u posted and it worked fine. the starter motor turns, but does not do it enough to start the car, from what i read the reason for that is the brain has to learn the tach signal first. Is there any other reason?

as far as the doors locking and unlocking and the alarm it self i had no issues although i tried it with the door trigger (+) being connected. as far as the door relays, they are connected the way i posted them first, that was worked fine for me.
