i have a command start car starter in my safari van.  the problem is it no longer works and am not familiar with car starters.  if you push the buttons on the remote it beeps so it still works i think.  and when you open the hood it shuts the starter off because of the button under the hood.  but it will not start the car or work the locks.  anyone have any ideas, my wife is breathing down my neck to get it working

thanks

Did you turn off the toggle switch by accident located underneath the driver's side dash ? This would cause a no start error to happen, but your door locks shoudl still be working. You might have to reporgram the remote control. What model number do you have ?

Sounds like the 555c remote.... 2 button beeping.
Open hood, pule the hoodpin once, parklights come on, pule again to make them stay on. Press Button number one. That's it as far as programming the remote goes. Here's something else to try. With the hood up, hold down the pinswitch manually and then press the doorlock button (the one with 2 dots on it, or on the right if the keyring is down) If the parkights flash once (lock) or twice (unlock), (before you reprogram the remote, that is) then one of the reasons it isn't starting is the switch is off under the dash.
All of the CSI units I have ever seen will do diddly if the hoodpin is grounded or up.... locks won't even do anything.
Let us know.
