I have no idea what I did but my alarm/starter install wasn't very good!!

1. For some reason I can't get my blazer to shift anywhere else than 2nd and 3rd gear!! I can manually shift from 2nd to 3rd but that's it....It will not shift on it's own!! Any ideas??? I checked everything and it seems to be good!!!

2. I can't get a damn whining static to go out of the door open with the key in the ignition siren. The only way to make the noise go away is to put your seat belt on??? As soon as you stick the key in the ignition, even before you turn it, the noise starts??? If you connect the seat belt it stops???? It is not on full force like the door was open with the key in but rather like it is getting a little power to it..The normal siren still works with the door open. When you shut the door it starts the funky noise..

3. I don't know if this has something to do with it but, I did not hook up the horn, factory disarm, and vacuum system terminals coming off of the alarm...I didn't think I need them....

4. There is also a third ignition wire on the blazer but no 3rd ignition hook up on the alarm??? Do I have to do anything with this??

5. There are some thick wires, in the ignition harness, that I did not hook up to anything. There is a brown (3rd ignition), RED / white (don't know). There is also a thin white, green, and brown wire in the ignition harness that I do not have hooked up.

Everything seems to be good except the noise coming thru the door open and key in the ignition siren and the transmission not working!!

  • You have to power either the PINK/WHITE or WHITE wire in order for the transmission to function properly. This is your PCM ( 2 nd ignition wire ) that sends a current to enable the automatic transmission computer. You will need a relay for this connection unless the RS has an on board relay for this wire ?
  • Make sure that your siren OUTPUT wire is not grounding out anywhere ( like through the firwall ) and also make sure that the GROUND is a good ground. Have you tried using a different siren to see if the problem is still there ? You may have a defective siren if it only does this when the door is ajar and key in ignition. Where did you attach the door trigger wire to ?
  • The horn, factory disarm, and vacuum system terminals do not need to be hooked up
  • There is no third ignition wire on the Chevy Blazer.
  • Those other wires are not used in the RS installation.

It is not the alarm siren making the noise but it is the buzzer that lets you know that your door is open and your key is in the ignition...Thanks For the help!!

You may have the wrong domelight trigger. Does your alarm get triggered by all the doors.
My Personal Installer Note: Connectors are easy, neat, and professional. But do you know how to crimp properly?

good question??? never checked it?? What is the proper dome light trigger??? Color? Location?? anyone know?? I wired it off of the door trigger  like it was explain to me to do..I could have screwed that up too though...For some reason the tranny works now??? I did nothing too it but move some stuff around...I think maybe I just have a bad connection on the 2nd ignition somewhere....That damn noise is annoying though....Do you have any other suggestions on how to wire up the dome if that is what is making the noise?

disconnect the wire that you connected to the dome light just to be sure if thats the problem. Keep your finger crossed!!
